At Array, we more commonly use peels to rejuvenate the skin’s appearance, often in conjunction with other treatments such as Botox® and dermal fillers. Peels can be particularly effective in treating sun-damaged and hyper-pigmented skin.
For Acne and other skin conditions, the chemical peel works by breaking down the stratum corneum (the top layer of the epidermis), tough structural proteins, and infiltrating the plugs of dead cell debris, oil and dirt that can block pores and cause comedones (blackheads), pustules (whiteheads) and acne nodules (inflamed pimples).
What products do you use?
Array Aesthetics uses the Obagi Medical range of peels, including the Obagi Blue Peel Radiance and TCA (Trichloroacetic) peels. Peels come in various strengths and will depend on the primary agent used and the goal of the treatment. A number of the agents used for deeper peels require a prescription, in which case an assigned Array doctor will be at hand to do so.
How long does it take?
A chemical peel treatment will normally last between 15-20 minutes. Some patients may require a course of up to four peels to get the best possible results. A designated Array practitioner will lay out the best course of treatment for each client.
How long does it last?
The results of a chemical peel will vary from case to case but typically patients notice results for up to six months or more.
What should I do after?
Following a procedure, clients should avoid UV rays and apply SPF50 sunscreen (we recommend Obagi NuDerm Physical UV Block SPF 32 or the Obagi Rosaclear SPF 30) in order to protect skin post treatment. Every client will have an assigned Array practitioner who will take them through the best course of aftercare.
Will I receive any aftercare?
At Array Aesthetics, all clients receive up to two weeks aftercare following their procedure. This is to ensure customers are happy with their treatment and given the utmost care and attention.
