What is Hyalase?
Hyalase is a naturally occurring enzyme which acts to break down or dissolve hyaluronic acid dermal filler.
With the huge rise in inexperienced, under qualified practitioners flooding the unregulated non surgical aesthetics market, patients who have had bad experiences elsewhere often consult medical professionals at Array for help in removing poorly placed filler. Fortunately, hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved using hyaluronidase.
Hyaluronidase (or ‘hyalase’) is a naturally occurring enzyme that acts to break down HA filler. It works very quickly and is very safe in the right hands.

During initial consultation, one of Array's medical team take a detailed history, examine the area of concern and create a plan to dissolve the filler. Occasionally, several sessions of dissolving are required to completely remove the filler. Some permanent or semi-permanent material can not be dissolved with hyalase.
Very rarely, a patient may be allergic to hyalase. A ‘patch test’ may be performed before treatment to ensure patients do not have an allergy. This involves introducing a very small amount of hyalase under the skin of the forearm and observing the area for 30 minutes. Patients must wait a minimum of 2 weeks after treatment with hyalase before having more filler injected.

After your patch test, the process of filler dissolving takes 5-10 minutes, depending on what and where is being dissolved.
Filler is permanently dissolved after hyalase treatment. You can choose to be re-treated 2 weeks later.
At Array, all patients receive aftercare as required, following their procedure.
Hyaluronidase is a generic drug available only on prescription.
Although filler dissolve is a little uncomfortable at times, patients tolerate the procedure very well. A dental block may be used for dissolving lip filler to minimise discomfort. The procedure is generally short!
