MOXI is a non-ablative fractional laser developed by Sciton that delivers controlled laser energy to the skin to stimulate natural cellular renewal and collagen production.

Unlike more aggressive resurfacing lasers, MOXI treats the skin without removing its surface, making it suitable for patients looking to improve skin quality with significantly less downtime.

It has become one of the most popular laser treatments worldwide for:

  • Preventative anti-ageing

  • Early sun damage

  • Uneven skin tone

  • Pigmentation

  • Fine lines

  • Skin texture

  • Maintaining healthy skin year-round

MOXI is suitable for a wide range of skin types and can be performed on the face, neck, chest and hands.

What Skin Concerns Can MOXI Treat?

MOXI is ideal for patients wanting healthier, brighter skin before more advanced signs of ageing develop, while also improving many common skin concerns.

Pigmentation

MOXI helps improve:

  • Sun spots

  • Age spots

  • Uneven pigmentation

  • Mild melasma (following clinical assessment)

  • Freckles

  • UV damage

Fine Lines

By stimulating collagen production, MOXI can soften:

  • Early forehead lines

  • Crow's feet

  • Fine lines around the mouth

  • Fine crepey skin

Uneven Skin Texture

MOXI improves overall skin quality by helping to reduce:

  • Rough skin

  • Enlarged pores

  • Dull complexion

  • Mild acne scarring

  • Surface irregularities

Prevention of Skin Ageing

One of MOXI's greatest benefits is prevention.

Rather than waiting until signs of ageing become more advanced, MOXI helps maintain healthier skin by encouraging continuous collagen renewal and improving overall skin resilience.

This makes it particularly popular with patients in their late 20s, 30s and 40s who want to take a proactive approach to skin health.

Sun Damage

Years of UV exposure gradually affect the skin, even if changes are not immediately visible.

MOXI can improve:

  • Photodamage

  • Uneven skin tone

  • Early pigmentation

  • Loss of radiance

  • Dull, tired-looking skin

Areas That Can Be Treated

MOXI can safely treat:

  • Face

  • Neck

  • Décolletage

  • Hands

Combination treatment plans can address multiple areas during the same appointment.

Is MOXI Right for Me?

MOXI is suitable for patients who:

  • Want brighter, healthier skin

  • Have early signs of ageing

  • Have uneven pigmentation

  • Want to improve skin texture

  • Have mild sun damage

  • Want minimal downtime

  • Wish to maintain the results of previous laser treatments

During your consultation, one of our experienced practitioners will assess your skin and create a personalised treatment plan based on your goals.

Treatment Stacking: MOXI + BBL HERO™

One of the most exciting developments in aesthetic medicine is treatment stacking -combining different technologies to address multiple layers of skin ageing during the same treatment plan.

At Array, MOXI is frequently combined with Sciton BBL HERO™.

BBL HERO™ treats:

  • Redness

  • Rosacea

  • Thread veins

  • Pigmentation

  • Sun damage

  • Age spots

  • Vascular lesions

MOXI treats:

  • Skin texture

  • Fine lines

  • Collagen stimulation

  • Pore size

  • Overall skin quality

  • Surface pigmentation

Together, these treatments work synergistically to improve both the deeper and more superficial layers of the skin, delivering more comprehensive rejuvenation than either treatment alone.

Treatment stacking is an excellent option for patients looking for noticeable skin rejuvenation with manageable downtime.

Your practitioner will advise whether combining treatments is appropriate during your consultation.

FAQ

Does MOXI hurt?

Most patients tolerate MOXI very well. A topical anaesthetic cream can be applied before treatment to improve comfort.

How much downtime is there?

Most patients experience redness for 24–48 hours, followed by a sandpaper-like texture for several days as the skin naturally renews.

When will I see results?

Many patients notice brighter, smoother skin within the first week. Collagen production continues over the following weeks, with further improvements after each treatment session.

How many treatments do I need?

For optimal results, we commonly recommend a course of three treatments. Your practitioner will advise the most suitable plan during your consultation.

Can MOXI be combined with BBL?

Yes. Combining MOXI with Sciton BBL HERO™ is known as treatment stacking and is one of the most effective ways to improve pigmentation, redness, texture and overall skin quality in a single treatment programme.

Is MOXI suitable for all skin types?

MOXI is suitable for a wide range of skin types, but suitability will be confirmed during your consultation following a detailed skin assessment.

Can MOXI treat acne scars?

MOXI may improve mild acne scarring and uneven skin texture. Patients with more significant acne scarring may benefit from alternative treatments such as Halo® or ProFractional™ laser. We will recommend the most appropriate treatment during your consultation.

Can I wear makeup after treatment?

Your practitioner will advise when it is safe to resume makeup, depending on your skin's recovery. Following the recommended aftercare instructions is important to achieve the best results.

How long do the results last?

Results can be long-lasting when supported by good skincare, daily SPF and maintenance treatments. As skin continues to age naturally, periodic treatments help maintain healthy, radiant skin.

What to Expect After Treatment

Immediately following your treatment, it is normal to experience:

  • Mild to moderate redness, similar to a sunburn

  • A sensation of warmth or tightness in the skin

  • Slight swelling, particularly around the eyes

  • Tiny dark "microscopic treatment dots" (MTDs), which indicate the skin's natural healing process has begun

Over the following few days, these microscopic treatment dots become more noticeable before naturally flaking away as new, healthier skin is revealed.

Typical Downtime

Recovery varies between individuals, but most patients can expect:

Day 1

  • Redness and warmth similar to mild sunburn

  • Mild swelling may be present

  • Skin feels tight and dry

Days 2–3

  • Microscopic treatment dots become more visible

  • Skin develops a rough, sandpaper-like texture

  • Redness begins to settle

Days 3–5

  • Pigmented areas start to naturally exfoliate

  • Skin may feel dry or slightly itchy

  • New, fresher skin begins to appear

Days 5–7

  • Most redness has resolved

  • Skin appears brighter and smoother

  • Normal skincare and makeup can usually be resumed if advised by your practitioner

While many patients feel comfortable returning to work within 24–48 hours, those attending important social events may prefer to allow approximately one week for complete recovery.

Aftercare Instructions

To achieve the best possible results and support your skin's healing, please follow these aftercare recommendations.

During the First 24 Hours

  • Keep the skin clean and dry.

  • Avoid touching or rubbing the treated area unnecessarily.

  • Do not apply makeup unless advised by your practitioner.

  • Avoid vigorous exercise, hot yoga or activities that cause excessive sweating.

  • Avoid hot baths, saunas and steam rooms.

  • Stay well hydrated.

  • Use only the recommended gentle cleanser and moisturiser.

  • Avoid exfoliating products, retinol, retinoids, AHAs, BHAs and vitamin C until advised it is safe to restart them.

  • Do not pick or scratch the microscopic treatment dots as this may increase the risk of irritation or pigmentation changes.
